EQUINE THERAPY

Equine Assisted Therapy

We are also a provider supporting self managed and plan managed NDIS.

Equine Assisted Therapy uses connection between horses and humans to heal and improve both lives.  Therapeutic horseback riding is a form of physical therapy for people who have a range of disabilities including physical, emotional, cognitive, and social difficulties.

People and horses work together in a safe and therapeutic environment to foster self efficacy, empathy, resilience and emotional management.  Horses provide a tool for physical therapy, emotional growth, and cognitive improvement, in a unique format that is fun, exhilarating, and sometimes has the power to change a person’s perspective on life!

Besides the physical benefits derived from therapeutic riding, the contact with the animal is a powerful experience, and the strong bond that is sometimes experienced has a profound, uplifting effect on people with Autism, ADD/ADHD and anxiety.

We always start with teaching our riders the safety around horses and at the premises, then they will learn how to groom, saddle, ride, and the general care for a horse.

Sophie has a reputation for assisting individuals and groups that have tried a range of other therapeutic options without success, or have refused to access other services.

Sophie is amazing! She runs a riding school like no other I have been to. I have found in the past that other places have not much interest in showing you anything other than getting on their horse to ride and even the interest they show in your riding Is not much better. Her bubbly and witty personality makes the experience with her great too 😁 you not only learn but you have fun! She not only will teach you how to ride, she will teach you basically anything you ask about. I have learnt so much already off her! Keep up the great work sophie and keep being the awesome you!
